We start from Lille Europe Eurostar station in the morning and visit the Somme battlefield to see

•the Newfoundland Memorial Park at Beaumont-Hamel,

•the Ulster Tower

•he Pozieres battlefield

•the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing

•Albert & the ‘Golden Madonna’

•We also visit the Australian National War Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux,

Overnight: hotel Ypres

day 2: We spend today in the Ypres Salient to see some of the most important sites that remain:

•John McCrae’s Dressing Station at Essex Farm Cemetery,

•Vancouver Corner & the “Brooding Soldier”

•Tyne Cot Military Cemetery at Passendale

•Polygon Wood , the Buttes Cemetery and 5th Australian Div Memorial

•Hooge Crater on Menin road

•the moonscape of the Hill 60 battlefield

•Messines Ridge and Ploegsteert Wood

•This evening we attend the Last Post ceremony at the Ypres Menin Gate

Overnight: hotel Ypres

day 3:We leave the town of Ypres for a visit to :

•The 1916 Fromelles battlefield and the new Pheasant Wood Cemetery.

•the bunker Adolf Hitler is reputed to have used as a billet.

•the Loos battlefield and Memorial at Hill 70 , Dud Corner

•the Canadian Memorial Park at Vimy Ridge, where we take a trench and tunnel tour (weather permitting)

•the impressive and moving Vimy Memorial.
